Leave a Legacy

Legacy Gifts to CASA of Santa Cruz County may be done directly through a will or trust, by naming CASA of Santa Cruz County as a beneficiary. Another option is to include CASA of Santa Cruz County as a named beneficiary of a retirement account. In addition, there are other legacy giving options that provide tax benefits and even income. Your gift will provide opportunity, hope, and brighter futures to the most vulnerable children of our community for years to come.

Gifts to CASA can be made to support CASA's Endowment Fund or to support the general operations of the organization. If you have a specific purpose in mind, or have questions about a legacy gift, please contact us at (831) 761-2956 x106 so that we can fulfill your wishes.

We invite you to leave a legacy for tomorrow by making a planned or estate gift today.  When you do, we’d like to welcome you into CASA’s Legacy Society, recognizing your generous intentions and inspiring other caring individuals to make their own lasting impact on the lives of foster youth.

If CASA of Santa Cruz County is already included in your estate plans, please let us know by filling out the form below or contacting Magi Diego (831) 761-2956 x106.  We would be grateful for the opportunity to thank you for your support and recognize your generosity by welcoming you into the Legacy Society.

How to Make a Legacy Gift:

  • Name CASA of Santa Cruz County in your will or trust. Unrestricted gifts give us the greatest flexibility to use funds where they are most needed
  • Include CASA of Santa Cruz County as a full or partial beneficiary of an IRA/retirement account or life insurance policy - a simple way to provide for our youth’s futures without writing or re-writing your will. This may help your heirs avoid paying higher taxes on both inherited and earned income
  • Gift appreciated property, such as real estate or stocks, offering a wonderful way to invest in CASA’s future while reducing or eliminating capital gains tax.
  • Increase income for yourself or loved ones through a charitable annuity or remainder trust while creating a future gift for CASA of Santa Cruz County.

Bequest or beneficiary designation language:  “I give (dollar amount or percentage) to Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Cruz County, 813 Freedom Boulevard, Watsonville, California 95076, Federal tax ID No.77-0305354, to be used for the greatest need as determined by CASA.”
