Besides volunteering your time or gifting a monetary donation, there are other unique giving opportunities available that will support CASA's mission to ensure every child in the Santa Cruz County foster care system is matched with a caring volunteer Advocate.
-
Designate CASA of Santa Cruz as the beneficiary for a birthday, tribute, or memorial. Its easy with FaceBook, GoFundMe, or an in-person event.
-
Contact your employer to see if they participate in a Workplace Giving Program. CASA receives matched donations from many companies such as Google, Apple, PG&E, Netflix, and Macy's so be sure to ask!
-
Give from your IRA
If you are 70 1/2 years or older, you can transfer up to $100,000 ($200,000 for married couples, if each has their own IRA) from your traditional or Roth Individual Retirement Account (IRA) directly to a charity. The transfer can count towards your required minimum distribution and you avoid any income tax on your Qualified Charitable Distribution.
-
Gifts of appreciated securities offer important tax advantages. Donate stock to CASA via the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.
-
We have several events throughout the year which help raise funds for CASA while enjoying each others company.
-
Do you have gently used home or office furnishings you would like to donate? Please donate it to the Habit for Humanity ReStore.
-
As we have limited storage space, please consider donating items to Hope's Closet which can allocate items to where they are needed most in our community, including resource families.
-
Caroline's Non Profit Thrift Shop in Aptos donates 100% of sales to local charities serving children, including CASA. Please support this amazing community supporter!
-
The CASA Children’s Fund is used by our volunteer Advocates to purchase special items to enrich, or just add normalcy to a CASA child's life.
