Birth to Five Advocacy

“Every day, in a 100 small ways, our children ask, ‘Do you hear me?

Do you see me? Do I matter?’" -L. R. Knost

Children Birth to Five have a unique set of challenges and vulnerabilities due to their rapid brain development and susceptibility to their environment. At any given time, up to half of our CASA waitlist is made up of children five years and younger. Very young children benefit the most from advocates who are open to working closely with parents and caregivers, as we aim to support the attachment and relationship building between young children and their primary caregivers.

While we know that very young children are more vulnerable, they are also extremely resilient with proper early interventions and responsive relationships. We know that young children have an immense capacity to heal from early childhood trauma.
