Transition Age Youth

“A lighthouse doesn’t know upon who it shines, people just sail their ship toward it. I met these people who are human lighthouses, they are everyday heroes.”

-Steve Pemberton, Former Foster Youth, Author, and Business Executive

Transition Age Youth are at a pivotal point in their lives as they get ready to launch into young adulthood. Having often grown up in the foster care system, CASA's play an important role when working with youth age 16 to 21, serving as a consistent advocate and mentor helping them navigate independence.

While many of the statistics about older youth and youth aging out of foster care are glum, we know that one caring adult can make all the difference.
