Ways to Learn About Supporting Students During Mental Health Awareness Month

The California Department of Education is pleased to announce the following webinars: 

 

Tuesday, May 18, 2021 5:00-7:00 p.m. THIS WEEK 

The CDE is sponsoring an A Trusted Space webinar on May 18, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This webinar will be an opportunity for participants to view the documentary, created for adults who work with or parent children and youth, followed by a live panel discussion. The documentary and its accompanying curriculum help educators and school staff set up trusted spaces in school and virtually to help students navigate and address their feelings.

Wednesday, May 19, 20211 3:30-5:00 p.m. THIS WEEK 

The CDE and NAMI California will host the Ending the Silence (ETS) webinar on May 19, 2021 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Participants will be able to see an ETS presentation, learn how to schedule ETS for staff, students, and/or parents, and learn how to become a speaker to share lived experiences as part of ETS.

The CDE will host the last webinar of the Building a Network of Safety for School Communities Suicide Prevention Webinar Series for the 2020-21 school year on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. — Safe Messaging on Suicide Prevention and Planning Activities for the 2021-22 School Year— delivered by Dr. Shashank Joshi, Stan Collins, and Jennifer Baker.
