Taking part in community service with your CASA child can be an incredibly educational and enriching activity. Kids learn about the importance of volunteerism, and community service helps to raise their self-esteem while connecting them with their communities.
Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County

This is a great opportunity for our animal-loving youth, ages 16+.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties
Youth under 18 can participate in many volunteer opportunities at the Second Harvest Food Bank, although they cannot volunteer in the warehouse. Please see the website for service options.
Save Our Shores is a non-profit, marine conservation organization with many volunteer opportunities, the most well known of which are the large, community-wide beach clean-up days. This is a great way for beach-loving kids to give back to the community!

Spiritual Centers
If your CASA child is connected with a church, synagogue, or other spiritual center, there most likely will be service opportunities available through that center/organization. For example, some spiritual programs run soup kitchens, food pantries, holiday programs for needy families, etc.
