To All Advocates:

In light of the current concerns regarding COVID-19, our CASA team wants you to know that we are actively following the CDC and local guidelines and recommendations regarding maintaining our healthy environment at the CASA House.  We are also planning for the future so that we are able to implement any additional guidelines and recommendations that may be made in the future. As we monitor the recommendations, we will keep you updated on any guidelines that may impact our office.  As always, our primary focus is the safety and wellbeing of the children, youth and the families that we serve.

If it is determined by you and/or their caregivers that due to the child’s health or your health, it would best to maintain communication with one another via telephone, email or text, please consider that as an option and know that it is not an obligation to meet face to face as often as you have. CASA of Santa Cruz respects your decision and the decisions made by caregivers regards to safe and healthy hygiene practices. Regardless of how you visit with your child, we encourage you to continue contacting them to offer support and to check on their wellbeing.  If you notice that the child or family has additional needs or concerns please do not hesitate to contact your Advocate Supervisor so that support can be offered during this time.

Message from CDC: There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay home when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water when hands are visibly dirty.
